The Ultimate Babysitter...(please don't call Child Protective Services).

So at this point in my pregnancy I really don't care how much tv my kids watch to entertain themselves. I'm just grateful the tv exists at all. I'm too sick and listless to help the munchkins to do anything productive, so honestly I don't think Barney is going to damage them more than if they spent their time watching me puke.

I wonder what women did in the "olden days" when they were expecting their umpteenth child and they felt like crap. I betcha those poor women would have killed for a television to keep the children occupied. I can just see it now:

"Ma! Ma! I'm bored! Feed me!"

"Ugh, just go milk the cow again Jeb.... and pull little Hester out of the pig pen on your way...."

Yes, my life is pretty much a nightmare at the moment--but at least I have a couch, jello, and a huge jug of clean water to sip from every five minutes. And a Barney dvd that has a "continuous play" option.

That is all.

I can see you still have your sense of humor! Jeb & Hester and playing in the pig pen. I know your girls are still loved!

...so, if I had to pull a niece or nephew out of the pig pen recently...where does that mean I live?

Well, I'm glad I could "listen" to you talk here, since we didn't get to chat much at church; we never get to chat much, but I think it's because not much is much more than any of our loving (but impatient) loved ones could handle... Our day will come, Megs, surely our day will come. I have to tell you again, you never look anything close to as bad as you feel. The 1-10 scale thing, no matter which direction you go, is very telling. So hang on, sweet friend, a 5 day is coming, and a 2 - or 9 - won't be far behind. Have I ever lied to you? Meanwhile, thank Heaven for your lovah man...
Love you,
Karla

Jeb and Hester would never have been "bored" since they are used to grabbing the shotgun and hunting bears since the age of three and gathering hickory nuts and berries and fishing on the days that it rained. Makes ya wonder what we can possibly teach our young'uns these days that would be interestin' and make their characters sturdy. It's coming to me; yes, I've got it..... Go to Blacksfork for a week! Have a ball and: dig the toilet, walk ten miles and fish for yur supper, gather fire wood, play in the mud and wash up in the river. Eat in the rain, you can warm up later by the fire. Move logs and large rocks just to drive the road to fetch spring water fer yur barrel. SING, darn ya. Every blasted song you can think of. Make a contest out of it.
I guess you got the picture. After this last week in the mountains, Jeb and Hester ain't got nothin' on my offspring.
Love, Ma

Hi Megan,

I noticed that you made a comment on one of the giveaways I set up for Living Rooms Direct and was wondering if you would be interested in working together. If so, I would love to work with you on either a giveaway, a product review, or a guest post on your site. I look forward to hearing back from you!

Take care,
Suzanne
